National Poetry Month Roundup

Most of my poetry content has been moved into the Front of the Line community I’m running, but a few things of note for National Poetry Month:

• Griffin Poetry Prize has a great shortlist, including two of my favs from last year… Both the Oroluntoba and the Howard are stellar books, but I haven’t yet read the third. Surprised to not see David O’Meara’s latest on this list;

• Megan Coles, judge for the CBC prize talks about the importance of poetry;
• NPR takes poetry on a TikTok adventure;
• Ada Limón picks up just a little bit of press, nothing really, from Oprah;
• This recollection of Frank O’Hara’s last night from the perspective of the guy who hit him with a car is a much lovelier read than one might expect;
• Is John Dunne the perfect poet for our plague-ridden, dick-joke times?;
